DusuPay Now allows Businesses in the US and UK accept Mobile money payments from Africa
For every Business in the US by now you should be aware that Africa pays through Mobile money not paypal or credit cards like you would Imagine. Over 80% of Africa’s adult population prefers to pay with their mobile money rather than the bank accounts
Africa was a darker continent. People would move up to 30 kms just to find a bank to send a few dollars to their loved ones in different parts of the countery. This made it harder for the larger part of the continent to do the basic things like sending money within the country or even pay for there basic utilities or even the web services they would ideally want to use.
What the telecoms like Safaricom in Kenya did was they opened up hundreds of thousands of small agent networks like the one above whereby rather than looking for a bank branch over 30 kilometers away find a small agent similar to the one above most likely less than 100 meters away and send money, pay for utilities, borrow money, pay for financial securities or literally whatever else the bank can do.
Look at Mobile Money this way. What I do at my bank is deposit, send, withdraw, borrow and invest in securities. If I could do the same things in my neighborhood using a small outlet supporting the local shop/agent and phone, I would never actually need the bank. I mean people can send as much as $1500 in a single transaction and withdraw as much from any agent all over the country. Why would they ever need a bank.
Mobile money has undoubtedly scaled out bringing permanent impact to the continent especially with the recent fast growing Digital Age.
Why this should matter to US businesses
The mobile money economy opened up a 750 billion dollar African market that is now available in digital form. rather than trying to force Africans to use Credit Cards and PayPal of which there is a high likelyhood they wont have cards, know how to use them. Put in mind that these are people that still need some of the same service the US companies are providing. I mean businesses here also need to pay for their servers, subscribe for their accounting system or resell your products in Africa.
Rather than trying to force these people use the modes you are accustomed to why not just integrate what they are used to. Tap into what they already know to get the funds from potential clients in Africa. Take an example I personally dont mind paying for my cloud accounting $10 each month on accounteer.com for my mothers small business back home and I always use mobile money. Here is how she uses DusuPay to accept invoice payments on accounteer
